The Rolex Middle Sea Race is a highly rated offshore classic, often mentioned in the same breath as the Rolex Fastnet, The Rolex Sydney to Hobart and Newport to Bermuda as a "must do" race.
The 608 nautical mile scenic race is popular amongst expert sailors and enthusiasts. As the event attracts such a varied fleet, it's also divided into varying classes, giving every boat the chance for a good result.
What is the offering?
We’re offering the chance to be part of this classic yacht race on board Oceanica. The race will take 5 - 6 days so you’ll be required to join the watch system, taking turns to crew the boat through day or night while resting on your off periods.
How to get there?
We’ll meet in Malta a few days before the race for some race-prep. Flights are available from most international European airports with most low cost airways.
Itinerary
After a couple of days getting the boat (and crew!) ship-shape we’ll join the fleet on the start line for the 500 nautical mile race. The race will take around 5 days and the finish line is back in Malta for the after party and prize giving.
Wind and Weather
In October the weather can be mixed in that part of the Med, so expect exciting sailing! A good set of wet weather gear is required, as the temperatures could drop considerably at night.
Prices
£1695 per person for the race including food / drink during the race, pre-race preparations and post-race accommodation in Malta on board.
